UTRGV Festiba 2018, Monday-Sunday, UTRGV. This year’s Festival of International Books & Art starts on Monday, February 26th. Festiba Community Day is Friday, March 2nd.

Artxculture, Tuesday 6-8pm, Sekula Memorial Library. Group art exhibit and reception featuring international and regional artists.

In The Heights, Tuesday-Sunday 7:30pm, Albert L. Jeffers Theatre (UTRGV). The Lin-Manuel Miranda musical comes to UTRGV. Additional 2pm matinee on Sunday 3/4. $15 GA, $5 for students/faculty/staff with valid ID.

Bitcoin for Beginners, Wednesday 11:30am-1pm, Grindstone Coworking. Learn the basics of the most talked about crytpocurrency. Free workshop.

International Speaker Series, Thursday 6pm, Sekula Memorial Library. Edinburg Library welcomes Mr. Olusola Ogunkunle from Nigeria, currently a student at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, who will discuss his home country and culture.

Lip Sync Battle Round 2, Thursday 7:30pm, Sip Lounge. Grand prize is $150, contact the venue to sign up.

Festiba Community Day 2018, Friday 6-10pm, Edinburg City Hall Courtyard. Arts & crafts vendors, authors & artists, food & drink, live music and more. This year’s theme is “Transcending Borders: Building Bridges Through The Arts.” Free, family-friendly event.

Nerdvana’s First Raspberry Jam, Saturday-Sunday, Nerdvana. Learn about the Raspberry Pi; bring your own or tinker at Pi stations set up for you. Free and open to everyone in the community.

IHRA Ironman Kick-Off Race by Burns Motors, Saturday 3-10pm, Edinburg Motorsports Park. The drag racing season kicks off in north Edinburg.

Sunday Speaker Series: The History of the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show, Sunday 2-3pm, Museum of South Texas History. “Mike Risica, the present of the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show, will present about the history and impact of the show in South Texas… Museum visitors who attend the Sunday Speaker Series presentation will receive a one-day ticket to the RGVLS valid from March 8 to March 18. Additionally, visitors to either the museum or the RGVLS during that time period can bring their tickets to the other venue for free admission.”
